Shrewsbury Town manager Paul Simpson has told BBC Radio Shropshire he hopes to make a another new signing before the end of the week.
Town broke their transfer record on Tuesday by signing Nottingham Forest striker Grant Holt for 170,000.
Simpson, who also snapped up Blackpool defender Michael Jackson, said: "I am hopeful we may get at least one more.
"I've been really pleased the chairman hasn't insisted players have to go before we can bring anybody else in."
Shrewsbury finished 18th in League Two last season after Simpson took over in March following Gary Peters' departure from Oteley Road.
