Shrewsbury's new ground has not been officially named yet

Shrewsbury Town hope to make an announcement soon on the name of their stadium after closing in on a deal with a sponsor.

Town moved into their 10,000 all-seater stadium at Oteley Road last season after leaving Gay Meadow.

A statement to BBC Radio Shropshire read: "We're not in a position to say who's got the naming rights just yet.

"We are on the home straight in negotiations. Subject to fine print, we should be able to announce it soon."

Town, who finished 18th in League Two last season, are in talks with just one organisation.
