Shrewsbury's new manager Paul Simpson expects to have at least one new face in his line-up for the Easter weekend.

He would not reveal any names but did tell BBC Radio Shropshire: "I've spoken to a couple of players, and I am just awaiting their final decisions.

"I need to bring some experience into this young squad and some fresh faces to change things round a little bit.

"I'm hopeful we'll have a new name in the side at Dagenham on Saturday," Simpson added.

With nine games to go Shrewsbury are nine points clear of the relegation zone but Simpson is taking nothing for granted.

"A lot of the bottom clubs are playing each other over the coming weeks and we do not want to be dragged into a situation where we're scrapping to stay in this league come the final two or three games.

"I'm not saying the players we have already aren't any good. I just think we need one or two in the squad who've been there, seen it, done it, to get us closer to the results we need."
