Hibbert tipped to rediscover form
Dave Hibbert
Hibbert is looking to get back on the score sheet more regularly
New Shrewsbury Town boss Paul Simpson thinks Dave Hibbert could be the man to shoot the club to League Two safety this season.

"He's shown that he can score goals," Simpson told BBC Radio Shropshire.

Despite a goal drought over his previous six games, Hibbert's effort in Saturday's 2-1 loss at Macclesfield was his 11th of the season.

"Maybe this is the chance for him now. He was a big threat at Macclesfield, and I'm sure he can get scoring again."

"He took his goal well, he was big in the air, and he put some good balls out wide, so there were a lot of good signs," Simpson added.

Hibbert set off this season at a blistering pace, hitting the net seven times by mid-October.

But then an unsettled period followed, including injury and suspension, and Simpson now feels the time could be right for Hibbert to regain his confidence in front of goal.

"He was unfortunate to have got into a run where he's not got goals recently, but maybe this is the opportunity for him to get back into the side on a regular basis and start scoring again."
