Owls keeper signs for three years

Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Lee Grant has signed a new three-year deal at Hillsborough.

The 26-year-old has been an ever-present for the Owls this season and described his decision to stay with Wednesday as a "no-brainer".

The former Derby County stopper has kept 12 clean sheets this season and Wednesday manager Brian Laws has praised his consistency.

"He is a model of professionalism and a great athlete," said Laws.

Grant said: "I have enjoyed my first two years at Sheffield Wednesday immensely and I believe we have the basis of a very strong squad here, which will only get better.

"It was an easy decision for me to commit my long-term future to Sheffield Wednesday. There is a real feeling of togetherness running through the club at the moment and there is a good chance we can achieve success in the coming years."

Grant's new contract has a one year extension clause, meaning the former England Under-21 goalkeeper could stay with Wednesday until 2013.
