Grant best in Championship - Laws

Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws has hailed Lee Grant as the best goalkeeper in the Championship.

The 25-year-old has been in fine form this season, highlighted by a sting of saves in Tuesday night's 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

Laws told BBC Radio Sheffield: "I might be biased, but he's pulled off some unbelievable saves.

"I am very, very pleased that we have him and, yes, I believe he is the best keeper in the Championship."

Victory over Forest was Wednesday's second on the spin, after beating Charlton at the weekend, and moved them to fifth in the league.

It means it is the Owls' best start to a new season in eight years since their fall from the Premier League and a far cry from a year ago when they started with six successive league defeats.

Laws explained: "Last season we had the worst possible start you could ever imagine, now this season we've had the best start.

"But let's hope we can build on that and let's take a leaf from Bristol City.

"Everyone expected them to collapse and their bubble to burst after their great start last season, but they didn't.

"So let's hope we can do something like they did.

"I've always said that if I can get my best 11 out there we can beat anyone.

"It's about staying injury free and let's see what happens."
