Buxton has played in every position across the back four

Sheffield Wednesday have signed Stoke City defender Lewis Buxton on a one-month loan deal.

The 24-year-old will go straight into the Owls squad for the Steel City derby against Sheffield United subject to the paperwork being completed in time.

The Owls moved for Buxton, who can play anywhere across the back four, having suffered injuries to Peter Gilbert and Tommy Spurr.

Buxton has previously played for Portsmouth, Bournemouth and Exeter.
