No approach for Beevers says Laws

Mark Beevers
Beevers made 30 appearances for the Owls last season

Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws has said there has been no approach from Wolves for defender Mark Beevers.

Mick McCarthy's side are the latest club rumoured to be lining up a bid for for Beevers.

The 19-year-old has already been linked with a move from Hillsborough to Premier League side Liverpool.

Laws told BBC Radio Sheffield: "All I can say is no-one has been in touch to make an offer, none at all, the rumours are just rumours."

The teenager, who signed a new four-year-deal at Hillsborough this year, established himself in the Owls side last season and his impressive performances led to a call up to the England Under-19's squad.

And Laws said he is not surprised Beevers is constantly being linked to other clubs.

"Mark Beevers is a very good player, he's got all the credentials to be in the top-flight so it doesn't surprise me that there are one or two rumours going around."
