Sheffield United have signed Nyron Nosworthy on a season-long loan from Premier League side Sunderland.
The 29-year-old defender previously enjoyed a 19-game loan spell with the Blades last season.
And Blades manager Kevin Blackwell told BBC Radio Sheffield: "He was desperate to come here and we were desperate to have him.
"I have to thank Niall Quinn and Steve Bruce. They've been fantastic and I really appreciate their support."
A recall clause has not been included in the deal, meaning Nosworthy will definitely remain with the Blades for the full year.
Blackwell: "He's here, we won't have a situation like we did with Kyle Walker [when he was recalled by Tottenham] last season."
"Nyron's a Premier League player on Premier League wages but we've come to a compromise and that keeps him here."
Nosworthy said: "I've been waiting and waiting but finally the papers are signed and everything's done.
"I'm going to enjoy my football here, work hard and push for promotion."
