Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell says Blades striker Darius Henderson is struggling to be fit for the start of the season.
The 27-year-old suffered a thigh injury in the first leg of the play-off semi-final against Preston in May.
"I don't think we realised the severity of the injury at the time," Blackwell told BBC Radio Sheffield. "The bleed was so severe.
"We were lucky he didn't need surgery but he's still not fully fit."
