Scunthorpe pessimistic on permanent move for Joe Garner
Garner's last goal for Forest came against Scunthorpe in May 2010
Scunthorpe United manager Ian Baraclough has acknowledged signing in-form loan striker Joe Garner on a permanent deal is an unlikely prospect.
The 22-year-old has scored four times in eight appearances since joining from Nottingham Forest in January.
Baraclough told BBC Radio Humberside: "The likelihood of him being here on a permanent deal is minimal.
"If there was any possibility at all of us being able to sign him I would not shy away from it."
"[A permanent move] is nothing that has been mentioned at this moment in time, Joe is a Nottingham Forest player and he's here on loan." Baraclough added.
"I think there's a lot of clubs which having seen what Joe can do and how he's performed, would be interested."
Garner joined Forest from Carlisle in 2008, and spent the first half of the season on loan at Huddersfield where he failed to score in nineteen appearances.
