Trotter scored his first goal for Scunthorpe against Northampton
On-loan Scunthorpe United midfield player Liam Trotter says his future at parent club Ipswich is unclear after the appointment of Roy Keane as boss.
Trotter, 20, was loaned out by the Suffolk club to Scunthorpe in February after a spell at nearby Grimsby Town in League Two.
Trotter told BBC Look North: "It's all up in the air at the moment.
"I hope the new manager will come and see the next couple of games starting with Friday at Leicester."
Trotter admitted to being surprised by the speed of the changes at Ipswich.
He added: "It all came very quickly, I only found out yesterday afternoon that the manager had been sacked and at the end of the night found that Roy Keane was going to be appointed.
"It was quick and they obviously had someone in mind, it was a little bit of a surprise to be honest."
Trotter, who was born and brought up in Ipswich, says he is looking forward to seeing what Keane can do at Portman Road.
"He's proven that he can get teams up, he got Sunderland up and kept them in the Premier League," said Trotter.
"Obviously he was a fantastic player, but only time will tell if he's going to be a success at Ipswich."
