Salisbury manager Tommy Widdrington says the club are still being penalised for the previous regime's actions as a ban on him signing players continues.

"It's strange to punish people on the pitch for past people's discrepancies, Widdrington told BBC Wiltshire.

"I go to bed with my fingers, legs and toes crossed hoping that I get a call to say we can [sign players again]."

The club went into administration in September with debts of around £200,000 owing to HM Revenue & Customs.

Although the Whites are under a transfer embargo at the moment they can extend loan deals and are hoping to keep QPR duo Lee Brown and Joe Oastler for a third month.

Earlier this week, the club's administrators said they were still hopeful a deal with a consortium would be completed soon.

Salisbury City currently lie in 17th spot in the Blue Square Premier.
