Paul Driver named as Rushden and Diamonds assistant

Rushden & Diamonds

Rushden & Diamonds head of youth Paul Driver has been appointed the club's new assistant manager.

Boss Justin Edinburgh lost his previous number two Michael Stone when he opted to join League Two Barnet as their first team coach.

Driver told the club's website: "There's no other club like it in terms of the contact you get with supporters.

"I'm excited about working with the squad of players that we've got and what the the manager is building."

Edinburgh added: "Paul has been working closely alongside myself last year, so he knows what's expected and he knows how things work, he's not coming into it blind.

"He was with us every game last year, home and away.

"I've done all my coaching courses with Paul over the last two years so with his knowledge and his inside information at the football club, with the youngsters we have in the group, I just thought it was the natural progression for Paul."
