Rushden & Diamonds have signed free agent Josh Ford, the former QPR youth player, to cover injuries in defence.
The 18-year-old, who plays right-back or centre-half, started his career at Bristol City but he has recently been training with Salisbury.
Curtis Osano is injured and probably out for the season and Michael Corcoran has to serve a two match suspension.
"If we did take a knock at centre-half we'd have to push back a midfielder," said Rushden boss Justin Edinburgh.
Rushden's defensive injury shortage has further increased with the news that youth-team defender Jack Higgins has chipped a bone in his toe.
Chris Arthur has now returned to QPR following his month's loan spell.
