Rotherham United chairman Tony Stewart believes last season's top scorer Reuben Reid will agree a new deal by the end of the week.
The 20-year-old still has a year left to run on his contract and has attracted interest from League One outfit MK Dons.
"I would think by the end of the week it should be resolved," Stewart said.
"Reuben's advisors are keen to get something done so the signs are good. We are very close."
