Conceding soft goals is costing Reading - Jobi McAnuff
McAnuff joined Reading from Watford in August 2009
Reading winger Jobi McAnuff says conceding soft goals has hurt the team so far this season.
The Royals host Nottingham Forest on Saturday, looking for their first win after losing to Scunthorpe and drawing with Portsmouth.
McAnuff told BBC Berkshire: "These poor goals have mucked us up and stopped us from playing like we know we can.
"It's something we need to eradicate. But our performances can get better and we can nick a win against Forest."
He added: "Obviously, it will be a tough game but one we're all looking forward to."
Although the Royals are without a win, McAnuff says the mood around the club is positive and the team are looking forward to facing former team-mate Ryan Bertrand.
"He's really liked by the boys and it'll be good to see him back here," added McAnuff.
"It'll be a good contest if Jimmy [Kebe] plays on the right and Bertrand plays left-back. It'll be a good battle between the pair and we'll try and get Jimmy to tire him out."
Reading versus Nottingham Forest kicks off at 1500 BST on Saturday, 21 August and is live on BBC Radio Berkshire.
