| Wednesday, 14 August, 2002, 11:46 GMT 12:46 UK Reading land Hahnemann Reading have signed American goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann. The 30-year-old, who was released by Fulham in the summer, has agreed a two-year deal with the Royals. Hahnemann excelled during a loan spell at the Madejski Stadium last season and Royals boss Alan Pardew was delighted to have landed him on a permanent deal.
"I think he's the best offensive goalie outside the Premiership." Chairman John Madejski added: "I am absolutely delighted to welcome Marcus back to the club. "He was an inspirational figure during his loan spell with us last season and will be an excellent addition to our squad as we mount our challenge for a successful first season back in Division One." "Marcus was approached by other clubs, but he was always very keen to return to Reading. "His enthusiasm to play for the Royals was an important factor in this signing." Hahnemann has been capped three times and was at the Colorado Rapids before signing for Fulham. |
