Queens Park Rangers striker Rowan Vine has said he is nearing full fitness after breaking his leg last season.
The 26-year-old, who has been out of action since April 2008, has been an unused substitute in Rangers' recent wins over Swansea and Bristol City.
He told BBC London 94.9: "We were down on numbers and the manager said he wanted me on the bench.
"It's just short of a year since I broke my leg and I want to get out there before it becomes a year."
And Vine, who moved to Loftus Road from Birmingham City for £1m in January 2008, said his time on the sidelines has been a frustrating experience.
"Family kept me going. I have got two little boys and my partner has been there all the time too," said the former Luton forward.
"I've got four brothers and a sister, so everyone keeps you on your toes, but it has been hard.
"It's got to the point where I haven't really enjoyed watching games," added Vine.
