Buzsaky blow as Vine gets boost

QPR have received mixed injury news after Akos Buzsaky was ruled out for the start of the season but Rowan Vine has been cleared to begin training.

Buzsaky will be out for 12 weeks after ankle surgery, while Vine fractured his leg in a training accident in April.

Vine told BBC London 94.9: "It is good to get the go-ahead to start light jogging and gym, I am delighted.

"In October, I will be getting back to contention. The surgery went well and I have not had any setbacks."

The 25-year-old had sympathy for his Hungarian team-mate, who picked up his injury while on international duty.

"It is worse because they told him he will be fine, but in June he will be going under the knife so he will not be back for 10-12 weeks so it is a massive blow for us."

Rangers, who are owned by billionaire Lakshmi Mittal, are tipped to mount a serious challenge for promotion next season after appointing Iain Dowie as boss.

Vine said: "That's testament to the players, significant changes at the club and if you are not hungry for success then you should not be there."
