Preston midfielder Paul McKenna has undergone surgery in a bid to cure his
long-running groin injury. McKenna is expected to miss the first three months of the season after having
the operation during the club's pre-season tour of America.
Preston's head physio Steve Kemp told the club's website: "We are hoping that between eight and 12 weeks he will be back out playing football."
The 29-year-old has been sidelined since February with a hernia problem.
