 Davies guided Preston to five wins from six games during April |
Preston boss Billy Davies has been named as the Championship's manager of the month for April. North End booked their place in the play-offs after claiming five wins and one draw from their six games during the month - conceding only two goals.
The last of those wins was a 2-0 success against Leeds, who are their opponents in the play-off semi-finals.
The other contenders were Steve Coppell of Reading, Southampton's George Burley and Sheffield United's Neil Warnock.
