Johnson's side had looked set to make a shock late play-off push |
Bristol City boss Gary Johnson has been named as League One's manager of the month for April. City won five of their six league games during the month, scoring 13 goals and conceding just four.
However, the only game they failed to win - last Saturday's 1-1 draw with Swindon - looks set to have ended any hopes of a late run for the play-offs.
They need a result in the region of a 14-0 win over Southend on Saturday to have any chance of making the top six.
The other contenders for the award were Colchester's Phil Parkinson, Gillingham's Ronnie Jepson and Nottingham Forest's joint caretaker bosses Frank Barlow and Ian McParland.
