Preston have confirmed the appointment of Derek Shaw as their full-time chairman.

Cook has been acting chairman for the past 10 months and will now take up the role as a non-executive director.

The club have also named Steve Jackson on the board of directors.

Confirming his appointment as full-time chairman, Shaw told the club's official website: "It is a great honour for me.

"There have not been a lot of people putting themselves forward for the post or to get involved in the business end of the football club, but hopefully we can now move forward."
