Portsmouth captain Aaron Mokoena says his struggling team just need a bit of luck to turn their season around.
Saturday's 2-1 defeat by Spurs at Fratton Park leaves Pompey bottom of the Premier League with eight defeats from nine games.
But the South Africa captain told BBC Radio Solent: "There's no question of [lack of] spirit among the boys, or about attitude or enough energy.
"It's there. It's all about getting that luck to bring goals."
Ivory coast international Aruna Dindane was the biggest culprit in front of goal against Tottenham, missing two golden opportunities to score.
Mokoena defended his team-mate but acknowledges Pompey are paying a high price for failing to convert chances into goals.
"It's costing the team," said the defender.
"We are desperate to climb up and get out of the relegation zone as soon as possible. But not scoring goals is really costing us."
