Port Vale have signed Birmingham City midfielder Jay O'Shea on a one-month loan deal.
The 22-year-old becomes manager Jim Gannon's first signing since taking over at Vale Park.
O'Shea joined Blues from Galway United in August 2009 but has only played nine minutes of Premier League football.
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international spent two months on loan at Stevenage earlier this season, making seven appearances.
O'Shea also played twice in a loan spell at Championship side Middlesbrough at the end of the 2009/10 campaign.
Following Saturday's 2-1 defeat by Crewe, Gannon said that he was desperate to bring in new players to strengthen his team.
Vale have dropped outside the automatic promotion places in League Two after losing four of their last five matches.
