Port Vale midfielder Anthony Griffith ready for call-up
Griffith has made 109 Vale appearances since joining in 2008
Port Vale midfielder Anthony Griffith says his time on the sidelines has increased his hunger for football.
The combative 24-year-old has not played for over a month since he got injured at Northampton, but says the break has probably done him good.
He has lost his place in the team to former Brighton player Doug Loft.
Griffith told BBC Radio Stoke: "The time out has let my hunger and adrenalin build up inside me. I'm desperate to get back out there."
Griffith says the recent defeat at Morecambe might open the door for a return to the side against Barnet on Saturday.
It's been frustrating not playing, but watching the team win at Stockport and in the FA Cup has been fantastic

"I'd like to get back in the team and help the team and manager return to the top and get promotion," he said.
"It's been frustrating not playing, but watching the team win at Stockport and in the FA Cup has been fantastic."
The Vale have back-to-back home games over the Christmas period with the visit of the Bees and Lincoln on Boxing Day and Griffith wants the team to take advantage of that.
He said: "It would be a fantastic Christmas if we can get results out of those games, we need to have a good Christmas and a couple of good wins."
