Port Vale chairman Bill Bratt has said he will do all that he can to support Micky Adams in the transfer market.

The Vale boss has signed 11 new players since arriving in June and is keen to strengthen his squad again in January, with the Valiants 16th in League Two.

"He's very good on the financial side of the club, so it's only fair that we help him," Bratt told BBC Radio Stoke.

"If we can help him, we will. I know that if other people come on board, they will help him as well."

He continued: "What we can't do is give him £500,000 to spend because it will bankrupt the club, but we've certainly got to back him and do as much as we can to help the manager get the players that he wants in."

In November, Vale reported a loss of around £280,000 for the past financial year, despite making substantial cuts to the playing budget from the previous season.
