Postponed game disappoints Glover

Dean Glover
The Valiants went down 3-0 to Exeter at Vale Park in October

Port Vale manager Dean Glover was disappointed that Saturday's League Two clash with Exeter was postponed.

The game at St James' Park was called off following a pitch inspection at 1300 GMT, just two hours before the scheduled kick-off.

Glover told BBC Radio Stoke: "We wish the game had been called off earlier.

"Exeter had no intention of a pitch inspection in the morning because the sun was out, but you would have thought they could have looked at 11 o'clock."

The game was originally scheduled to be played on Tuesday, 3 February but was switched when neither side made it through to round three of the FA Cup.

Glover said he does not know when the game will now be played, but expects it to be reverted back to the original date.

"We might have to come back down on the date we originally planned to," said Glover.

"We were down to just 17 fit players for today, so come next week I might have some more bodies back.

"But the suspensions I have still carry on for next week, so in a way I lose those players," he added.
