Porter played 383 times for Vale scoring 26 goals

Former Port Vale midfielder Andy Porter has left the club after a total of 17 years at Vale Park.

Porter made more than 380 appearances for Vale including Wembley finals and historic FA Cup giant-killing matches.

After a spell away he returned in 2004 as a coach with the youth team and led them to the FA Youth Cup quarter-finals last season.

He applied for the vacant manager's position when Lee Sinnott was sacked but was overlooked for the post.
