Perry has made 25 appearances for Port Vale since joining from Chasetown
Port Vale striker Kyle Perry has said he is determined to win back his place in the Valiants' first team.
The former Chasetown man, 22, has not played a first-team game for Vale since September and has been linked with a move back to non-league football.
He told BBC Radio Stoke: "I'm still here and I still want to work hard for a professional career.
"What would benefit me the most is gaining all the experience I can with Port Vale, this where I want to be."
Perry moved from Chasetown to Vale Park along with central defender Chris Slater after they both impressed in the Southern League side's FA Cup victory over the Valiants in December 2007.
Slater has since had his Vale contract terminated and has returned to play for the part-timers.
"Me and Chris came from the same club and have a lot in common but we're totally different characters," said Perry.
"What happened to him doesn't make me worry for my future because we're at different ends of the spectrum.
"I don't want to be judged on where I've come from and I am determined to show everyone that Port Vale should keep hold of me."
