Brammer is in his second spell with Port Vale

Port Vale are hoping a knee operation to on-loan midfielder Dave Brammer will see him back playing in the New Year.

The 33-year-old has missed the last four games through injury and Vale have failed to win any of them.

Manager Dean Glover told BBC Radio Stoke: "We have waited as long as we could to see if it would clear up but the niggle is causing him aggravation."

Brammer is on loan from Millwall, and Vale have agreed a pay-as-you-play deal to keep him at the club.
