Port Vale goalkeeper Joe Anyon has said the responsibility is on the players to turn results around following the sacking of manager Lee Sinnott.
Anyon told BBC Radio Stoke: "We weren't getting results so the board took the step of removing the manager.
"It's now down to us as players to turn things around, we've got to stick together and improve on the pitch."
Sinnott left Vale Park on Monday after a poor start to the season which has left the Valiants 16th in League Two.
Vale have won just twice since being relegated from League One but Anyon believes they still have plenty of time to turn the season around.

"I wouldn't be pushing the panic button just yet, we could win our next five or six games and then we'll be right back in it," he said.
"But it's a must that we improve a home, because at the minute our performances are just not good enough.
"We've been beaten three times at Vale Park already this season but we can change that around."
