Port Vale manager Lee Sinnott believes the increased crowds at Vale Park this season will give his side an extra incentive to win promotion.
Just over 6,500 fans watched the 2-0 defeat by Accrington, almost doubling their average gate from last season.
Sinnott told BBC Radio Stoke: "I think the bigger crowds will help us as the season progresses and I'm sure the players will enjoy it.
"If you're on top of games it's going to put pressure on the opposition."
Vale put on a special offer after their relegation to League Two, giving supporters the chance to purchase an adult season ticket for just 183.
The club easily surpassed their initial sales target of 5,000, with the final figure of season tickets sold nearer to 7,000.
