Port Vale chairman Bill Bratt has said the club will announce the appointment of a new manager after the weekend. In a statement issued by the club he says: "Progress has been made and a decision on a new manager will be made next week.
"In the meantime (caretaker boss) Dean Glover will be in charge for the game against Huddersfield this weekend."
Vale have been interviewing for the vacant manager's job since Martin Foyle left the club on 26 September.
Glover has been in temporary charge since then, guiding Vale to two wins and four defeats in League One, while they exited the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on penalties.
