Quinn insists he is committed to his job at Cambridge |
Cambridge United boss Jimmy Quinn has insisted that he is not interested in Port Vale's managerial vacancy. Rejecting newspaper reports to the contrary, Quinn told Cambridge's website: "I haven't applied for it.
"Someone's spoken to the chairman on my behalf, but I can assure Cambridge fans that I'm not going anywhere.
"I live 15 minutes down the road from Port Vale, but they're down at the wrong end of the league. I don't want to go into a club that's struggling."
The former Reading, Swindon, Northwich and Shrewsbury manager added: "When you're doing well, you always get people ringing you.

"Our chairman had a phone call from Gillingham and he turned that down. I could have pursued it, but I don't want to go to Gillingham either. "I'm building something here and it's not finished yet."
Vale have been searching for a new boss since Martin Foyle left the club on 26 September, while Gillingham have been without a permanent manager since Ronnie Jepson's resignation on 9 September.
