Summerfield spent time on loan at Leyton Orient last season

Plymouth Argyle midfielder Luke Summerfield will remain on the sidelines for at least another three months after a fresh injury blow.

The 22-year-old has been out of action with a knee problem since August and suffered a new knee injury in training.

Plymouth boss Peter Reid said: "He was almost at full training and then something completely different snapped his medial ligaments.

"We're looking at March or April - the boy has had a torrid time."

Summerfield made three appearances for the Pilgrims in August, and scored for the side in their opening match as they beat Southampton 1-0.
