Bolasie made his first appearance for Argyle in February against Barnsley

Plymouth Argyle have confirmed that Yala Bolasie may need surgery after damaging his knee in the pre-season friendly with Saltash.

It was originally thought Bolasie had injured his ankle, but a scan on the winger's knee revealed further damage.

Argyle manager Peter Reid said: "There might be surgery, we've had the scan results and will decide what to do."

The 21-year-old returned to the Pilgrims after an impressive loan spell at Barnet in January.
