Sturrock urges Easter improvement

Jermaine Easter

Plymouth manager Paul Sturrock says Welsh international striker Jermaine Easter must impress him in Tuesday's reserve game.

Easter has not played a game since Christmas after he suffered a knee ligament injury.

He has also not played for Argyle since September when asked to leave.

"There's no excuses any longer, he has to perform now to the standards I know he can achieve," Sturrock told BBC Spotlight.

Easter made 11 appearances on loan at Colchester and Millwall between September and December last year before deciding to return to Argyle.

"I've talked to him about it and he now knows that a judgement is going to have to be made on him," Sturrock added.

Easter will be part of a very strong Argyle reserve team that will take on Bristol City at Home Park at 1400 GMT on Tuesday.

Also in the squad are record signings Steve MacLean and Simon Walton as well as Hungarian international Krisztian Timar.
