Sturrock is coming under increasing pressure as Argyle's slump continues
Plymouth Argyle manager Paul Sturrock has admitted that he has made mistakes after his side slipped to 18th in the Championship after defeat at Charlton.
Argyle last won a game on Boxing Day and are five points off the drop zone.
"I think it's very fair and appropriate that the manager has to carry the can," Sturrock told BBC Radio Devon after the 2-0 loss at the last-placed Addicks.
"I have made several mistakes, but I made sure that the players appreciated that they've made mistakes as well."
Sturrock kept his players locked in the dressing room for an hour after the game as the pressure grows on the Argyle boss, whose recent form is the worst in his managerial career.
"There was a lot of angry words between certain individual players and myself and I do feel that it'll have the appropriate effect," he added.
Argyle face Crystal Palace at Home Park on Tuesday night in the Championship in a key game, before hosting Sheffield United on Saturday.
