Plymouth Argyle manager Paul Sturrock says he has made offers to sign Russell Anderson and Gary Teale permanently.
Scottish internationals Anderson and Teale joined from Sunderland and Derby County respectively on loan until the end of the season.
The pair have now gone back to their parent clubs but Sturrock says he is hopeful of them returning to Home Park.
"I've been in negotiations, I've chatted to them and they've got to chat to their clubs," he told BBC Devon.
Centre-back Anderson has been a key part of the Argyle defence since coming to the club and has impressed the Plymouth boss.
"The boy Anderson did very, very well," Sturrock said.
"Gary [Teale] as a winger can be inconsistent in his performance and I was a bit disappointed he missed quite a lot of games with injury.
"But he's got qualities as well and it's something we'll look into in the next couple of weeks."
