Grant Basey extends Peterborough United deal

Peterborough United have secured the services of defender Grant Basey until the summer of 2012.

The 22-year-old, who signed an initial six-month deal in January, marked his Posh debut with a goal in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Yeovil.

He joined after a successful trial at London Road, following his release by League Two side Barnet.

The former Charlton man is in line to start Saturday's League One clash with Tranmere Rovers.

Meanwhile right-back Mark Little has thanked boss Darren Ferguson for being patient with him.

The 22-year-old found himself out of the side throughout much of January when he was told he needed to improve the defensive aspects of his game.

It's more important for us to get 1-0 or 2-0 wins than keep coming back from two or three goals down

"I was asked to just sit and defend, but it's not how I've grown up to play and I'm not really that sort of defender," he told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

"Darren has had to be patient with me and understand the situation and now I'm getting my confidence back.

"We have to keep more clean sheets and stop letting stupid goals in, so now we've got one clean sheet we need to keep doing the same.

"It's more important for us to get 1-0 or 2-0 wins than keep coming back from two or three goals down."
