Two goals in the last five minutes handed Peterborough a win over Yeovil.
The hosts missed a series of first-half chances - Sam Williams was guilty of wastefulness as he sliced wide from close range.
They were made to pay when Craig Mackail-Smith turned Paul Huntington and fired home with five minutes left.
They made sure of the result shortly afterwards when Grant Basey made no mistake from inside the six yard box from Grant McCann's corner.
Yeovil manager Terry Skiverton told BBC Somerset: "I think we dominated the game for long spells, but we'll work harder. I'm more than happy with the players I've got.
"We need to work harder at getting chances. We need to turn it around fast, and we'll use this bit of time to reassess and work on our fitness.
"Then we'll just get stuck into this final part of the year now, and see what we can do."
Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire:
"This is as good as any win we've had this season and we dug in and were resolute.
"I was wrong to question my players' mentality after the Charlton defeat, and I apologised to them, because we have fought back on several occasions since I've been back at the club.
"We know what sort of mentality we need to get promotion and we know how many wins we need, but we'll be keeping that to ourselves."
