Arron Davies hails Peterborough United's new formation
Davies joined Posh in the summer
Peterborough United midfielder Arron Davies says a change in formation helped Posh to their second away win of the season with a 3-1 win at Walsall.
Manager Gary Johnson used a back three of Lewin Nyatanga, Kelvin Langmead and Ryan Bennett, with Mark Little and Seth Nana Ofori-Twumasi as wing-backs.
Davies told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "We've got the players who can adapt to that and I think it worked.
"The three in midfield worked, and I nicked myself a goal as well."
He added: "The gaffer said that one of the midfielders should bomb on and it worked."
It was Davies' first goal for Posh since he signed from Yeovil in the summer.
The 26-year-old was pleased to put recent defeats by Brentford and Brighton behind him.
"That's football, you can't dwell on it as the next game comes around so quickly," he said.
"You've just got to put it to bed and we did that, now we can look forward to Saturday."
Peterborough are away at Stockport in the first round of the FA Cup.
Davies is looking forward to break from League One action, and said: "It would be nice to have a cup run and it takes your mind off the league
"We'll fancy our chances wherever we go, but we've got to be disciplined and we can't take it easy.
"Stockport have got good players so we have to go there with the right application."
