Matt Gill set for Peterborough United return

Gill has been a bit-part player since joining the Canaries

Norwich City midfielder Matt Gill has agreed a one-month loan deal with Peterborough United, the club where he started his career.

The 29-year-old will be available for Saturday's League One game with rivals MK Dons.

The Posh youth product, born in Cambridge, made 167 appearances during his time at London Road between 1997 and 2004, scoring five times.

Since joining the Canaries in June 2009 he has featured just 13 times.

Gill left Peterborough for Notts County, spending two years there before enjoying a successful spell at Exeter City where he helped the Grecians win back-to-back promotions from the then Conference Premier to League One.

With central midfielders James Wesolowski and Grant McCann sidelined Gill will offer Posh boss Gary Johnson much needed cover.
