Peterborough's Mclean and Mackail-Smith commit futures

Aaron Mclean and Craig Mackail-Smith have said they are both settled and focused at Peterborough United.

Posh came close to losing both halves of their attacking strikeforce during the last campaign.

But Mclean, 27, told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I'm not worrying about transfers or anything, my main concern is getting into the team here."

Mackail-Smith, 26, added: "Gary Johnson has come in and I definitely won't be going anywhere now."

The Peterborough duo scored over 40 goals between them as Posh won promotion from League One in 2009, but both players struggled in the Championship.

Mclean had a transfer request accepted by the club in December before being dropped from the starting line-up by Mark Cooper.

Under Jim Gannon he was handed a reprieve, but missed the end of the season after undergoing knee surgery.

"I guess I've got a bit of winning over to do, but most fans I've spoken to seem to understand my situation," Mclean said.

"I had one or two problems that I don't really want to go into, but you can't find form if you're not happy.

"But there's nothing that should happen now to turn my head and I've got a smile back on face which is good."

While Mclean's fortunes improved under Gannon, Mackail-Smith found himself out of favour, but still managed to finish the season as the club's leading scorer.

"Most people knew I had a few problems with Jim Gannon and I wasn't his cup of tea," he said.

"At the time I wanted to get away, but I'm looking forward to working with Gary Johnson and getting back to the Championship."
