Peterborough United manager Jim Gannon has said there could be more arrivals and departures at London Road ahead of the loan deadline later this month.
Posh allowed George Boyd to make the move to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.
Gannon told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "We want to keep as many players here as possible it's a balancing act.
"I'm always asked my opinion, but if the time is right to move people on then we will and I'm expecting an interesting couple of weeks."
Many fans were disappointed to see Boyd move on loan to the City Ground while Posh still have a chance of avoiding relegation.
But Gannon says it is a deal that makes sense both for the club and the player.
"It was a difficult decision for the chairman, but when he asked for my opinion I felt we couldn't deny a player the opportunity to play at what could be a higher level," he said.
"I can understand the chairman's emotional attachment, but sometimes players outgrow a club and as long as the price is right then it's right to let them go."
Craig Mackail-Smith, Joe Lewis, Aaron Mclean and Lee Frecklington have each been linked with moves away from London Road.
Gannon says he cannot rule out further departures, but did add to his squad on Tuesday with Mark Little arriving on loan from Wolves.
"I've seen quite a bit of Mark at Wolves and Northampton and he's not only a good defender but he's pacey and can get forward," he said.
Little, 21, is set to make his debut for Posh against Coventry on Saturday with Kerrea Gilbert struggling with a knock.
Gannon has a decision to make in central midfield with Jake Livermore having been re-called to Tottenham on Tuesday.
"Jake has been excellent in moving the ball from side to side and controlling the game from midfield alongside Frecklington so it's obviously a loss," he said.
POSH INS AND OUTS UNDER GANNON
IN - Liam Dickinson (Brighton)
IN - Mark Little (Wolves)
OUT - Tommy Williams (Preston)
OUT - George Boyd (Nottingham Forest)
Posh are on the look out for a replacement for Livermore, but Charlie Lee could come in as cover for Coventry.
Reuben Reid is another injury doubt so Chris Whelpdale is likely to join Liam Dickinson and Tommy Rowe or Dominic Green in attack.
Ryan Bennett, Scott Griffiths and Exodus Geohaghon are all set to miss out in defence, but Gabby Zakuani is fit to play alongside Craig Morgan.
