Lee happy to be Posh utility man

Peterborough United utility player Charlie Lee has said he is not targeting any particular position in Darren Ferguson's side.

The 22-year-old featured in four different roles last season but insists he and Ferguson have not held talks about where he will play in the future.

He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "There haven't been discussions and I don't really want there to be.

"If I keep my options open it's good for me and it's good for the team."

The former Tottenham trainee has appeared at left-back, right-back, centre-half and central midfield since arriving at Posh in the summer of 2007, but admits he feels more comfortable further up the field.

"I would always have said central midfield," he said. "But I enjoyed full-back last year and I really don't care. I'll play wherever I'm needed and I just love playing."

Meanwhile, the club have confirmed striker Craig Mackail-Smith is suffering with a reoccurrence of his body alignment problems.

The former Dagenham man has trained just twice so far in pre-season and missed Tuesday's 2-0 friendly win over Rochdale.
