Chester has made one substitute appearance for Man United
Peterborough United loanee James Chester says he can deal with the pressure of covering for the likes of Craig Morgan at London Road.
Chester joined Posh on an initial month's loan from Manchester United and could make his debut against Carlisle on Saturday.
Chester told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I'm fully aware of the pressure I'll be under if I do play.
"This club wants to move forward and win promotion from League One."
Chester made his debut for Manchester United as a substitute in the second leg of their League Cup win over Derby.
However the 20-year-old jumped at the chance to make the move to London Road.
"I was training at Manchester United on Sunday morning, by the time I got home I had a call from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer saying I was going on loan to Peterborough," he said.
"Sir Alex rang me and passed Darren Ferguson's number on to me, I spoke to him and I was down Peterborough way Sunday."
With Chris Westwood currently at Cheltenham on loan and Shane Blackett still out with a long-term shoulder injury, Posh are short of cover at the back.
Chester believes he has the ability to make an impact at League One level.
"I like to think I'm good with the ball, but I can put my foot through it as well," he said.
"I've got Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic to learn from so if I can end up like the two of them I'd be more than happy."
Meanwhile, Craig Morgan has not fractured his toe as initially thought and could be back for the clash with Yeovil on 14 February.
Morgan was substituted just before half time in Saturday's defeat to Huddersfield, but scans revealed bruising rather than a break.
