Ferguson is happy with Wright's progress in training
Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson has said new signing Ben Wright could be part of his first team plans earlier than had been expected.
The 20-year-old forward arrived from Hampton & Richmond Borough last week.
Ferguson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "He's been very impressive. He's different to what we've got.
"His fitness isn't anywhere near our level, but he's been that impressive that I might have to consider him sooner than I thought."
Wright, who signed a three-and-a-half-year contract, will have an improved chance of making the first team with Liam Hatch, Rene Howe and Scott Rendell all out on loan.
Ferguson added: "It might be a case that he comes in sooner rather than later."
